Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children

Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere... else.
But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children.
Nancy tumbled once, but now she's back. The things she's experienced... they change a person. The children under Miss West's care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world.
But Nancy's arrival marks a change at the Home. There's a darkness just around each corner, and when tragedy strikes, it's up to Nancy and her new-found schoolmates to get to the heart of the matter.
No matter the cost.
My Review:
Wow, this book was such a great read! I loved the idea of the after the fairy tale adventure, about being where they started off and it not being home anymore. Such an interesting concept, and the idea of all the different worlds, with Nonsense and Logic, Virtue and Wickedness, it was just so fascinating!
Nancy went to an Underworld land, and only came back because the ruler wanted her to make sure that was what she wanted. But for everyone who came to Eleanor West's place, well, their lands were places where they fit in. Where they weren't outcasts. Where they wanted to get back. And this school was to teach them how to make it because most of them can't go back.
This world is just so darned creative, and a bit dark, because there's the light and the unicorns, and there's the dark and the dangerous, and the kids that went to the different sides, don't always get along, especially when there was someone going around, harvesting different body parts of these people.
I really enjoyed watching them solve this mystery, not because they wanted to, but because they felt responsible, that it was the right thing to do. And I had an idea of who the bad guy was, but it turned out I was wrong since that person was killed, and yeah, it made for interesting reading, who the bad guy was!
Loved this story so much, and I can't wait to read more of this series!
