Week 23 Review: Hide

From Goodreads:
A high-stakes hide-and-seek competition turns deadly in this dark thriller from New York Times bestselling author Kiersten White.

The challenge: spend a week hiding in an abandoned amusement park and don't get caught.

The prize: enough money to change everything.

Even though everyone is desperate to win—to seize their dream futures or escape their haunting pasts—Mack feels sure that she can beat her competitors. All she has to do is hide, and she's an expert at that.

It's the reason she's alive, and her family isn't.

But as the people around her begin disappearing one by one, Mack realizes this competition is more sinister than even she imagined, and that together might be the only way to survive.

Fourteen competitors. Seven days. Everywhere to hide, but nowhere to run.

Come out, come out, wherever you are.

My Review:
Man, this was such a fantastic read! I really enjoyed the way that it was told, we were jumping around in these peoples' heads, and we didn't see everything-but there was just the feeling that something was off, and I enjoyed it so much!

All of these contestants want something from the prize money, the notoriety, the ability to take support themselves. They have various plans-and there are some with questionable methods, who aren't as likeable, but on the whole, I really enjoyed getting to know these characters!

We mainly focused on Mack, who had a traumatic upbringing, when her dad killed the rest of her family, and she survived by hiding. Things have been hard for her, and I loved watching her and the rest of the survivors figure out what was going on.

Once the countdown was on, oh, the stakes were quickly rising. And when parts of the truth started to come out, the realization that they're stuck in this abandoned amusement park...yeah, it was intense, and I loved that ending! It was dark, twisted and thrilling and so very entertaining!

This was a fantastic read, and if Kiersten White writes more adult books, I'll be reading them!
