Week 44 Review: Twelve Graves of Christmas

From Goodreads:
Jane Ladling presents the perfect fail-proof recipe to spice up the holidays. Or ruin them. Baker's choice!

Mix a murderous cat with a goofy corgi. (Ignore any hissing. That definitely probably means the two ingredients are blending amazingly well.) Then add a landlocked cemetery allegedly peppered with gold-stuffed coffins. Whisk in a gravekeeper convinced a family curse forever dooms her to lose any man she loves. Marinate with a ridiculously charming ex-special agent whose muscles and lopsided smile make her forget said curse. Toss in a pinch of mystery courtesy of an old, coded treasure map and crank up the heat. Broil, baby!

If no one dies, serve with a smile. If they do, smile wider.

And maybe, just maybe, Jane can solve a series of bewildering clues, end the curse for good, and finally find her own happily ever after. Or not.

My Review:
Man, this was such a nice holiday novella! I love Jane and Conrad, and watching her just be oblivious to his attempts to woo her back, thinking he's not interested (like getting a car with so many safety features) was just so sweet and hilarious!

I loved that we were getting these letters from Grandma Lily, to help convince Jane to trust in love instead of the curse. That they were themed around the song, Twelve Days Of Christmas, and how each gift related to love, was just so stinking cute!

Jane does waver, she does still care about Conrad, she just can't admit it to herself, she doesn't want to lose him to the curse. But as has been brought up, that attitude of fear of the curse, just might be what is bringing it into being in the first place!

While all that romantic drama is going on, there's also the gold that was supposedly buried in the cemetery. That her missing great grandfather had a pretty good idea of where it was-before he vanished. I loved watching all the developments and reveals. But there's still some lingering questions that I hope we get the answer to in the future!

This was a fantastic read, and I can't wait for more in the series!
