From Goodreads:
Shadow Days, told from Shay's perspective, chronicles the days before the start of the New York Times bestselling Nightshade, when Shay is taken away from the friends he loves and forced to live in his uncle Bosqu Mar's mansion, where the gargoyles seem to move, magic seems real, and nothing is as it should be.
Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything- including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?
My first review of Nightshade
My Review:
I thoroughly loved reading these books! I loved reading Nightshade the first time, it kicked off this wonderful world, and getting Shadow Days, to see a bit of Shay before he met Calla, yeah, it was so great and I had to read more!I really enjoyed Shadow Days, seeing where events started for Shay, how he entered this world, it was so great! We really got to explore the mansion in this book, because it became Shay's home, which really sucked for him, given that it's also the residence of the bad guy of the series.
I loved reading Nightshade again, it's kinda an old school class of of YA, at least, the YA that of the time that I really got into reading and following. And I've only read it the one time, over a decade ago, so it was basically like reading it for the first again, watching the story play out!
Calla is such a great character, and it was a bit sad, seeing her beginning, because I know the end of Bloodrose is bittersweet. But it was great to start at the beginning, watching all these seeds of the story be started now, and I can't wait to see them bloom in the future books!
These were so great to read and I can't wait to continue on!
