From Goodreads:
As #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong's new Cainsville series continues, Olivia’s power to read omens leads to the discovery of a gruesome crime with troubling connections to her new hometown.

Omens, the first installment in Kelley Armstrong's exciting new series, introduced Olivia Taylor-Jones, daughter of notorious serial killers, and Gabriel Walsh, the self-serving, morally ambiguous lawyer who became her unlikely ally. Together, they chased down a devious killer and partially cleared her parents of their horrifying crimes.

Their success, however, is short-lived. While Olivia takes refuge in the old, secluded town of Cainsville, Gabriel's past mistakes have come to light, creating a rift between the pair just when she needs his help the most.

Olivia finds a dead woman in her car, dressed to look like her, but the body vanishes before anyone else sees it. Olivia's convinced it's another omen, a sign of impending danger. But then she learns that a troubled young woman went missing just days ago—the same woman Olivia found dead in her car. Someone has gone to great lengths to kill and leave this young woman as a warning. But why? And what role has her new home played in this disturbing murder?

Olivia's effort to uncover the truth places her in the crosshairs of old and powerful forces, forces that have their own agenda, and closely guarded secrets they don't want revealed.

My Review:
Loved reading these! They were so great, and addicting, and page-turning, for Visions, and scrolling for Dragons! Loved these characters, and the supernatural that is kinda there, kinda not. And the chapters not narrated by Olivia, below, helped create that sense!

The chapters that were named, and narrated by other characters, in order Patrick, Ricky, Rose, Patrick, James, Rose, Gabriel 3 times, in this book, added so much to the book, seeing things that Olivia didn't see, and people's thoughts, especially Ricky, Rose's, and Gabriel's! It was just so freaking awesome!

So yeah, Gabriel messed up again, he took money from James to protect her from other guys and to try and encourage her to go back to James, and then when he was going to return the money, James tells Olivia about that, and James gives him 500 bucks to walk way, and he does, but he comes right back. And yeah, the "protection money," Olivia was not happy with him about that!

Olivia and Ricky's relationship developed, and along that, Olivia's knowledge did, because I think that guy was Ricky's Grandfather, because Ricky is 2 generations removed from the Fae (I forget what they're called here) and the guy she talked to was Fae, so yeah. And when Gabriel learned about the developments, that wasn't too fun. But they're all adults, and Rose's reading of Olivia and Gabriel said that this wasn't going to be an issue.

That story that Olivia saw, was immersed in, the house that was owned by her maternal mother's mom's family, as it turns out that Olivia's family is from Cainesville, and the girl that had connections to the light and the dark, and how Olivia might be the same, I can't wait to see how that plays out!

The whole thing with the elders switching the kids? And how they wanted to do it to Gabriel, but his dad!!! Patrick, refused, because of the whole "metal is forged in flames" thing, to make Gabriel strong. And while he has some things from that, Gabriel is strong. And yeah, the whole changeling plot is the main thing of the book!

My favourite quote has to be "Gabriel fell asleep before we hit the outskirts of Cainsville. This would have been much more troubling if he'd been the one behind the wheel." So hilarious, such dry humour, and right before the main big thing!

Loved these both so much, and they added so much to the series, and yeah, I can't wait for Deceptions, seeing how Visions ended with her reading the letter from her dad! I want more!
