Week 24 Review: The Unhoneymooners

From Goodreads:
For two sworn enemies, anything can happen during the Hawaiian trip of a lifetime—maybe even love—in this romantic comedy from the New York Times bestselling authors of Roomies.

Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion . . . she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.

Olive braces herself for wedding hell, determined to put on a brave face, but when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning, the only people who aren't affected are Olive and Ethan. Suddenly there's a free honeymoon up for grabs, and Olive will be damned if Ethan gets to enjoy paradise solo.

Agreeing to a temporary truce, the pair head for Maui. After all, ten days of bliss is worth having to assume the role of loving newlyweds, right? But the weird thing is . . . Olive doesn't mind playing pretend. In fact, the more she pretends to be the luckiest woman alive, the more it feels like she might be.

My Review:
This book was a ton of fun to read! I mean, all the stories that Olive had chronicling her bad luck, to her fiery relationship and banter with Ethan. It was such a great quick read, and so hilarious, too! Christina Lauren never fails to delight in their contemporary books! (I think The House is a dark book, though I haven't read it yet, though hopefully soon!)

The idea of running into your new boss and his wife on a vacation where you're lying, and then have to lie to them is pretty hilarious. Then when they leave, you run into your companion's ex, well, you can kinda see where Olive thinks that she has bad luck! But it was so fun to read!

I really enjoyed Olive and Ethan. Their siblings married each other, so they can't really get away from one another. And while there was initial attraction, these two just didn't get along. There were a few misconceptions and misunderstandings, and so much banter! I really enjoyed reading their story!

This is a rom com, there's a comedy of errors, and there's personal drama. There was one big one that kept popping up that in the beginning was, well, you didn't expect it but you weren't surprised that it was there. And boy did it cause a lot of drama, not just with Olive and Ethan, but the newlyweds as well!

Loved reading this book, it was just so fun and great, just as you'd expect from Christina Lauren!
