Book Blogger Hop #278, February 3rd

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013. Check out the hop here

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

The Question of the week is: What was your favorite genre to read as a child? Do you still read that genre, or do you read something else now? (submitted by Mark @ Carstairs Considers)

I think my favourite was YA, and I still read it to this day, I just love it! What about you guys? Happy reading!

  1. I never really had a favorite genre as a child, I chose to explore all genres then. Today I am the same way I suppose, I like so many different genres. I do tend to gear towards the psychological thriller genre lately. But I try to make myself go out of my comfort zone and try something new, but it is hard for me.

    1. Yeah, it wasn't conscious on my part, but it's the books that I remember reading the most! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!

  2. I enjoy YA on occasion, although I think these days I prefer the YA fantasy genre over the YA contemporary genre. When I was growing up, it was more of the mystery and general fiction genres under YA. Thank you for sharing! I hope you have a great week.

    1. Oh yeah, YA fantasy over YA contemporary. I try to avoid contemporary because there's the focus on the relationships and emotions, and I don't do well with that! But mystery YA is a fav, as well! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!

  3. I don't know if YA was a category as such when I was a kid growing up in India, but I definitely read books that would fit into that today.. But both as a kid and now as an adult, I read just about anything :)
    Here is my Friday post

    1. Yeah, same, I wasn't aware of YA as a genre, but those are the books, looking back, that I was reading. And same, I read a bunch of genres! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!

  4. Hi Louisa,
I am just letting everyone know that I follow on BBH, etc. that I am going to try something new (well, new for me) out. I know that there are other memes similar to this, but I just thought I would do it since Lia doesn’t blog any longer. So let’s see how it goes. I have joined a lot of other memes so maybe you could ‘pay it forward’ and join mine and pass me on if you would be so kind 😉

I love comments, so comment away! I'll comment back if you leave a post-specific link for me to visit! If you leave that link, I'll always comment back, even if it's like, a month late!

This is an award free blog! Thanks for thinking of me but I just don't have the time to pass it along!
