Week 14 Review: Ride the Storm

From Goodreads:
The New York Times bestselling author of Reap the Wind returns to the "fascinating world"* of Cassie Palmer.

Ever since getting appointed the chief seer of the supernatural world, Cassie Palmer has been playing catch up. Catch up on the training she missed being raised by a psychotic vampire instead of at the pythian court. Catch up on the dangerous world of supernatural politics. Catch up on the powerful, and sometimes seductive, forces trying to mold her to their will. It's been a trial by fire that has left her burned.

But now she realizes all that was just the warm up.

Ancient forces that once terrorized the world want to return, and Cassie is the only one who can stop them.

My Review:
Yes, this book is exactly what I was waiting for! These past two books have had a bit of a difficult time, being so long and all, but the wait is well worth it! And this book concludes the plotlines that have been going on recently!

I think the point where I laughed the most, was during the second battle, about 40 or so pages in, give or take. Because I mean, possessing dead bodies and shooting the bad guys with their fallen members? Pretty darned hilarious!

So, so, so, soooooo much happened in this book! We learned more about Pritkin and his dad, and the Camelot legends. We learned more about Mircea-and Dory! That reveal came at an awesome time! A plan of her parents comes to light! Cassie faces off with Jo, and learns a few new things. And Ares makes an appearance! Yeah, just so much, it was just nonstop! And I loved every since word!

My one little complaint, is that we don't see when the counter curse is applied. Since it's been something we've been waiting two books for, I really hope that we'll get a deleted scene, or a Pritkin POV scene, because I really, really, really want to see the counter curse applied!

Absolutely wonderful book, and I can't wait for the next, either a Dory or another Cassie book!
