Week 14 Review: Darkest Journey

From Goodreads:
They say it's about the journey, not the destination…

Charlene "Charlie" Moreau is back in St. Francisville, Louisiana, to work on a movie. One night, she stumbles across the body of a Civil War reenactor, the second murdered in two days. Charlie is shocked to learn that her father—a guide on the Journey, a historic paddle wheeler that's sponsoring the reenactment—is a suspect.

Meanwhile, Ethan Delaney, new to the FBI's Krewe of Hunters, is brought in on the case. He and Charlie have a history of their own, dating back to when he rescued her from a graveyard—led there by a Confederate ghost!

Charlie arranges a Mississippi River cruise so she and Ethan can get close to the reenactors, find out who knows what, who has a motive. They discover a lot more as they resume the relationship that ended ten years ago…but might die, along with them, on the Journey.

My Review:
This book was really fantastic! I loved this 3rd book that's kinda like a trilogy within the series, with the Celtic American Lines ships and their employees! Charlie and Ethan were awesome together, and I loved reading about them!

Ethan knew Aidan, from The Betrayed, so yeah, that was a nice connection. Because I've been kinda forgetting most of these characters who weren't in the first 4 books, and the latest two or three. Those characters in the middle books have kinda been lost in the shuffle! So that mention was nice, even if I had to look for which book Aidan had been in!

Charlie and Ethan had worked together before. So they had history, and they both found each other attractive, and now the 3 years that separated them in age, didn't matter so much! They still had a few troubles, but not as many as they would've had at 16 and 19!

I did read the ending before I was done the first chapter. I just had to know how things were going to end! And so I was watching for the clues! This was a pretty interesting mystery, because there was the Journey, and there was the movie that was being filmed. Loved how things came together!

This was a fantastic book, and I loved reading it! Yeah, I'm just one book from catching up!
