Week 42 Review: Blood Like Fate

From Goodreads:
Voya fights to save her witch community from a terrible future.

Voya Thomas may have passed her Calling to become a full-fledged witch, but the cost was higher than she'd ever imagined.

Her grandmother is gone.
Her cousin hates her.
And her family doesn't believe that she has what it takes to lead them.

What’s more, Voya can't let go of her feelings for Luc, sponsor son of the genius billionaire Justin Tremblay—the man that Luc believes Voya killed. Consequently, Luc wants nothing to do with her. Even her own ancestors seem to have lost faith in her. Every day Voya begs for their guidance, but her calls go unanswered.

As Voya struggles to convince everyone—herself included—that she can be a good Matriarch, she has a vision of a terrifying, deadly future. A vision that would spell the end of the Toronto witches. With a newfound sense of purpose, Voya must do whatever it takes to bring her shattered community together and stop what's coming for them before it's too late.

Even if it means taking down the boy she loves—who might be the mastermind behind the coming devastation.

My Review:
Man, this was such a fantastic read! I loved being back in this world again with these characters, I was so invested in them in the first book, and it was fantastic to follow them some more! And oh, was it such an entertaining read! This book raised some really great points about racism, and this book does the same, which was really great!

Voya went through the ringer in the first book, and she made some hard choices. Even though they came through in the end, so much went wrong before we got to that point, and now Voya's dealing with the fall out, and being the leader of the family at such a young age. Something that she doesn't feel, and her family doesn't feel, she's ready for. So it's not a great situation!

I really felt for her, I was invested in her story from the first book, and watching her go through this book, I was rooting for her! Watching her try to prevent this devastating vision, it was great to see her work to her full potential to keep it from happening!

There were also some shocking reveals that happened along the way, and watching things go down, it was so entertaining! I just wanted things to work out, with her family, with the witch community, and with Luc. So I thoroughly enjoyed that ending!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more by Liselle Sambury!
