Week 27 Review: A Game of Retribution

From Goodreads:
Become enchanted by the fantasy world of gods and mortals in bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair's reimagined New Greece. Readers are "hopelessly addicted" to the story of Hades and Persephone. Hades, God of the Dead, does not take sides or bend the rules. He makes no exceptions to these values―not for god or mortal, even his lover, Persephone, Goddess of Spring. Usually, fear prevents retaliation. But not this time. When Hera, Goddess of Women, approaches Hades with a plan to overthrow Zeus, he declines to offer help. As punishment, Hera sentences Hades to perform a series of labors. Between killing mythical monsters and recovering deadly stolen artifacts, each feat seems more impossible than the last and draws his attention away from Persephone―whose own tragedy has left her questioning whether she can be Queen of the Underworld. Can Hades maintain the balance he craves?

My Review:
I had a really fantastic time reading this book! Because the pair of them didn't really have a lot of time together in this book, not really. So the main story-Hera making Hades complete these tasks to that he could keep this relationship with Persephone, yeah, it had a lot of screen time!

Honestly, Hera is just awful. In Greek God retellings, it's about 50/50 which way she'll land, and in this world, she's on the bad side. But it's understandable, given how often Zeus cheats. But it doesn't excuse her actions-especially to those who don't deserve it. And what she had Hades doing...I can't wait to see her taken down!

It was interesting to see things from his perspective, because there's the whole, her best friend is hanging on by a thread, and he can't help her. But dealing with these hard times and actually getting through them just makes their relationship stronger.

I'm really excited to see how things are going to wrap up in this book! A lot has been set up-and we're learning more about the big picture in this series, it feels like, since Hades knows who he is. I can't wait to see how events are going to play out!

Loved reading this book and I can't wait to see how things are going to wrap up with this series!
