Week 1 Review: The Darkest Touch

From Goodreads:
From New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter comes the long-awaited story of Torin, the most dangerous Lord of the Underworld yet…

Fierce immortal warrior. Host to the demon of Disease. Torin's every touch causes sickness and death—and a worldwide plague. Carnal pleasure is utterly forbidden, and though he has always overcome temptation with an iron will, his control is about to shatter.

She is Keeleycael. The Red Queen. When the powerful beauty with shocking vulnerabilities escapes from a centuries-long imprisonment, the desire that simmers between her and Torin is scorching. His touch could mean the end for her, but resisting her is the hardest battle he’s ever fought—and the only battle he fears he can't win.

My first review of The Darkest Touch
My Review:
Well, it was really fantastic to read this book again! Like, I'd totally forgotten what happened to the All-Key-Torin has it, and yeah, I'm glad, since it played a pretty major role in The Darkest Kiss, that it's back in Lord-friendly hands!

It is strange, because it feels like in this book she's pretty well together, but in the future books, she talks about her memories like they're on a cork board, on one another, and it might take digging to find it. But in this book, in her perspective, I didn't get that, so that's strange.

I loved the two of them together, I remembered what the cure was, I forgot why, but I was rooting for them throughout, as he went back on forth on whether or not he should be with her because of his demon. Luckily it all worked out!

This is the book where Hades starts to play a role, since he's Keeley's former fiancé. And the war in the Underworld is a pretty big plot going forward. That this book was the start of what it becomes, yeah, I'm so glad that I've been doing this reread!

Loved reading this book again, and I can't wait to continue on! I've almost finished this reread, yeah, that's been about 2 years in the making now!
