Week 37 Review: The Dead Travel Fast

From Goodreads:
A husband, a family, a comfortable life: Theodora Lestrange lives in terror of it all. With a modest inheritance and the three gowns that comprise her entire wardrobe, Theodora leaves Edinburgh--and a disappointed suitor--far behind. She is bound for Rumania, where tales of vampires are still whispered, to visit an old friend and write the book that will bring her true independence.

She arrives at a magnificent, decaying castle in the Carpathians, replete with eccentric inhabitants: the ailing dowager; the troubled steward; her own fearful friend, Cosmina. But all are outstripped in dark glamour by the castle's master, Count Andrei Dragulescu.

Bewildering and bewitching in equal measure, the brooding nobleman ignites Theodora's imagination and awakens passions in her that she can neither deny nor conceal. His allure is superlative, his dominion over the superstitious town, absolute--Theodora may simply be one more person under his sway.

Before her sojourn is ended--or her novel completed--Theodora will have encountered things as strange and terrible as they are seductive. For obsession can prove fatal...and she is in danger of falling prey to more than desire.

My Review:
This was a fantastic book! The reason why I read it, is because I love her Lady Julia Grey series, so I had to check this one out, and I'm glad I did, because yeah, I was just so thoroughly entertained, I mean, Theodora is an unconventional woman, and she's a writer, so go, books!

Utterly loved her relationship with Count Dragulescu, and how she is attracted to him, how she came there for her friend's wedding to him, but that's not happening, and her friend is glad, so there's that, and the fact that there's a murderer among them.

The mystery, for me, is strong, because I don't pick up on the small details all the time, because I'm a fast reader, I want to know what's going to happen, that I don't always make up the small threads on the tapestry, but yeah, just such a compelling mystery, whether or not his dead dad committed the murder, or someone else, and in the end, who the 2 final suspects are-Cosmina, and his mom.

One thing that I think I might like, is if the novel that Theodora wrote in this book, would be published, because that, that would pretty great, just like how Mia's book, Ransom My Heart, was really published, so yeah, that'd be awesome. Though it's been a while since this book came out, so yeah, this would just be a fun idea, not something that I think could/would/will happen.

Such a great book, now to find others like it!
