Week 28 Reviews: Dark Descent, Dark Melody

From Goodreads:
For Each, There Could Be Only One: They came from the darkest places: secluded monasteries, the Carpathian mountains, galaxies under siege. They were men with the blackest pasts-warriors, vampire monks, leaders of armies-but whose passions burned like dying stars. They had one purpose: to find those women who fulfilled them, completed them, and made them rage with a fire both holy and profane. They sought soul mates whose touch consumed them with desire, yet whose kisses refreshed like the coolest rain. And each man knew that for him there was only one true love-and in finding her, he would find salvation.

From Goodreads:
They were masters of the darkness, searching through eternity for a mistress of the light...

Lead guitarist of the Dark Troubadours, Dayan was renowned for his mesmerizing performances. His melodies stilled crowds, beckoned, seduced, tempted. And always, he called to her. His lover. His lifemate. He called to her to complete him. To give him the emotions that had faded from his existence, leaving him an empty shell of growing darkness. Save me. Come to me.

Corinne Wentworth stood at the vortex of a gathering storm. Pursued by the same fanatics who'd murdered her husband, she was risking her life by keeping more than one secret. Fragile, delicate, vulnerable, she had an indomitable faith that made her fiery surrender to Dayan all the more powerful. This was the one woman whose loss would destroy him, even as her love promised to heal his soul.

My Review:
I really enjoyed reading these books! They were great couples, though honestly, Dark Descent is really a novella, not a full length book, so I don't know why it's not 10.5, not 11. But oh, well, it was a pretty great story!

Dark Melody is the last book in the first mini trilogy within the series, the others being Dark Challenge and Dark Fire, the other members of the Dark Troubadours group. So yeah, it was great to have this book, and round out all the member's happinesses!

The whole situation with Corinne, and how she's pregnant from her husband who died shortly after she conceived, and that the baby is a risk to her health, well, that leaves the both of them in a precarious situation-she wants to keep her baby, and he would like that, but he really wants her to survive. So not a fun situation to be in!

That her husband was the one that initiated contact with the group that later killed him, and came after Corrine, that's not a nice thought. But in the end, it's all good, everyone that we like lives, she delivers a healthy baby girl, and Corrine becomes a Carpathian, that was a great ending!

I enjoyed reading the both of these again, and I can't wait to read more again!
