Week 15 Review: Not the Witch You Wed

From Goodreads:
A fake relationship between a magic-less witch and a wolf shifter turns to more in the start of a bewitching new paranormal rom-com series.

Magic-less witch Violet Maxwell wants nothing to do with alpha wolf shifter Lincoln Thorne—the man who broke her fragile, teenage heart. But when the two of them are forced by arcane Supernatural Laws to find mates, Violet and Lincoln agree to fake-date their way to a fake-mating in order to conjure themselves some time.

The joke's on them. When old feelings make a reappearance—along with Violet's magic—they both realize there's nothing fake about their feelings. But there are old secrets and looming threats that could snatch away their happily ever after, again. One thing's for sure: magic doesn't make dating and love any easier.

In Not the Witch You Wed, April Asher brings all the hilarity and sweet, sexy moments you love in a romantic-comedy—plus a fun dose of magic—to this spell-binding new series about being sexy, single, and supernatural in New York City.

My Review:
This was such a fun read! I loved the idea of these various supernatural's, and the council, and of course, these various singles who might not be so single for much longer! It was such a great paranormal romance, and this book kicked this series off with a bang, and I really enjoyed it!

Violet and Lincoln don't get along. They were childhood adversaries-and teenage sweethearts. But things went wrong, and they haven't seen each other in years. Though Violet doesn't know the whole story, which is pretty awful! So there were some pretty interesting dynamics surrounding them. And of course politics made things even more complicated.

Fake dating is just such a fun trope, especially with the stakes that these two have. I loved watching them spend this time together, that he wants desperately, and she's relearning who he is and old feelings are coming out to play. Of course an infuriating mistake causes things to fall apart!

The way things wrapped up was so excellent to read! That Violet showed her control of her magic to the Council-and they revoked an outdated rule. And how the alphas did vote to disband the elders. Everything worked out for them, and I'm really glad!

I had such a great time reading this book, and I can't wait for the sequel!
