Week 40 Review: After the Bite

From Goodreads:
The Argeneaus are back! New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands returns with another sexy, passion-filled romance about everyone's favorite vampires.

Immortal Enforcer Valerian just wants to relax. His last assignment had been more grueling than he'd care to admit, and golf has always helped him unwind. If golf course owner Natalie thinks it's a little odd for him to tee off at sunset every evening, she's keeping it to herself. The single mom is sexy as hell, and her little daughter Mia only adds to his delight. He knows Natalie is wary of a relationship of any kind...what will she think when she discovers he's an Immortal? His best course of action is to woo her the old-fashioned way.

But the course of true love never did run smooth--especially for a vampire and a mortal. And when danger stalks Natalie, Valerian realizes he's playing a game of life and death and if he loses this round, he risks losing her forever.

My Review:
Well, this was another fun read in this series! I adore this series of vampires, and all the romances that we have. And we did maybe learn something-that they don't look as beautiful on camera as they do in person, and I'm not sure that we knew that before. So that's interesting!

The particulars of their story-of her past, of her life before all of this, was heartbreaking to read. To know that she went though such a situation, went through such loss, it sucks. But she's strong, and she's a workaholic, and I loved reading their story!

There's an instant connection between the two of them, they're potential lifemates. But since she's a mother to a young child, relying on the chemistry is a no go for Valerian, which just leaves shared dreams, and spending time with her. And I had a great time with that!

Who turned out to behind all of it? That was unexpected, and oh, it hurt! The idea that a serial killer was after her was scary, but watching it all play out, that was intense! And has me wondering if this is a potential villain in the future.

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait for more!
