Man, this was another really fantastic read! I loved Sophie and Alasdair's story-and that it takes place right on the heels of After the Bite, with Valerian and Natalie's wedding, where Sophie is the date of another rogue enforcer...yeah, this story sucked me in so quickly!
Sophie has had it rough. First her parents die in a fire, and she's put in the foster care system. Then she loses her engaged to be engaged high school sweetheart, and her best friend. And two fiancés. So of course an immortal would be the best fit for her to survive!
One of my most favourite parts of this book, where his uncles and their attempts at helping him woo Sophie, and his twin brother. They were added this extra layer of humour that I just enjoyed so much, and if and when his brother gets his story, I hope the uncles will be along for the ride!
I really enjoyed watching as they fell into the embrace of a new lifemate pairing, the quick chemistry, and the immortal particulars, while some events were happening that were disruptive to the point where they figured out, yeah, something is going on here and we need to solve it. It was tough of Sophie, when the found out who it was, but it was good to get it dealt with, and I'm glad with where we left them!
This was another amazing read, and I can't wait for whatever is next!
