Week 42 Reviews: Dragon Planet, Stargazer

From Goodreads:
The much-anticipated sequel to Zero G and the middle grade debut by Dan Wells.

The colonists from the Pathfinder have arrived on Kaguya, a planet with low gravity but a very dense atmosphere. It's fun to jump around, but the air makes you loopy. Even worse than that, the heavy atmosphere means that wind storms, although rare, are absolutely devastating.

Zero and Nyx help to get everything locked down before the first big storm, but they stumble onto a group of thieves who have stolen some mining equipment. Before the kids have a chance to get away and tell anyone, the storm hits and the massive winds carry them far away. Zero and Nyx are stranded on an unknown planet with no way to communicate, being chased by thieves, and with another storm bearing down on them.

And, oh yeah, this planet has dragons.

It will take more than just good luck to get back to the colony. It's going to take science.

The third installment in the Zero G series by Dan Wells.

Zero, Nyx, and the other Pathfinder colonists have adjusted to life on Kaguya. But Earth has built much faster starships—the Dreamcatcher arrives ten years early, and the Stargazer arrives so early it actually got there before the Pathfinder did! Now the Stargazer is a lost shipwreck, and the race is on to find it, and who should show up looking for it but Nyx's dangerous family: Big Mama, Jim, and Kratt. Nyx and Zero will face kidnappers, pirates, shipwrecks, warlords, dragons, and maybe a new ally or two on their way to save the day once again.

My Review:
I really enjoyed finishing the rest of the series, at least at this point! We might get more stories in this series, we might not, especially since Dan Wells has joined Dragonsteel, and might be busy with that. Which is okay, we left things off on a good spot!

After the events of the last book, I really wanted Zero to be acknowledged for what he did to protect the ship, especially by his older brother. It kinda happened with the higher ups, but unfortunately, his brother pretty much didn't care.

Dragon Planet was another fun romp, because some of the people there don't have the best of intentions. I loved watching Zero and Nyx race across the planet in an effort to evade the bad guys, and learn more about it as they went along!

Stargazer, yeah, it was really great, of course technology got better after they left, so they could arrive sooner then predicted. It was really interesting to see this culture that grew around the ship, without the supplies that they were supposed to have, and made for another great adventure! And a good redemption story!

It was so much fun to read these two story, and I had such a great time doing so!
