Week 41 Reviews: Daughter of the Pirate King, Riden's Chapter, Daughter of the Siren Queen

From Goodreads:
A gorgeous new cover and all the bells and whistles decorate this special edition, perfect for a fan's collection, of Tricia Levenseller's bestselling debut about a pirate captain who deliberately allows herself to get captured by the enemy.

There will be plenty of time for me to beat him soundly once I've gotten what I came for.

Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map―the key to a legendary treasure trove―seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship.

More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate Riden. But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.

In Daughter of the Pirate King, author Tricia Levenseller blends action, adventure, romance, and a little bit of magic into a thrilling pirate tale.

The first chapter of Daughter Of The Pirate King in Riden's POV. Part of a pre-order incentive for Daughter Of The Siren Queen.

From Goodreads:
Alosa's mission is finally complete. Not only has she recovered all three pieces of the map to a legendary hidden treasure, but the pirates who originally took her captive are now prisoners on her ship. Still unfairly attractive and unexpectedly loyal, first mate Riden is a constant distraction, but now he's under her orders. And she takes great comfort in knowing that the villainous Vordan will soon be facing her father's justice.

When Vordan exposes a secret her father has kept for years, Alosa and her crew find themselves in a deadly race with the feared Pirate King. Despite the danger, Alosa knows they will recover the treasure first . . . after all, she is the daughter of the Siren Queen.

In Daughter of the Siren Queen, Tricia Levenseller brings together the perfect mix of thrilling action, tense battle scenes, and a heart-pounding romance.

My Review:
I had such a fun time reading these books! I've enjoyed her other books, but this is the first that was meant to be a series, and was set up that way! I just loved Alosa's story, how confident she is, that she's earned it, with the "training" that her father put her through!

This world of pirates and magic and sirens was so fantastic to read! That we're put in it from the start, with Alosa on a mission to get the part of the map, just loved it! Even while she's put in the position of little power, she's still choosing to do so, and her swager was on point!

Loved her interactions with Riden, they shouldn't get along, because he sees deeper then she wants him to. They were a really great pair, on opposite sides until they aren't, and it was just so entertaining to watch them together!

The hatred that I felt for her dad, to lie to her like that, to use her like that? Was just awful, and I loved that she was about to rescue her mom, but then her dad still had the map, so she couldn't let him win. Watching her overcome him was so satisfying after all that he did to her!

Loved reading these books and I'm so excited for Vengeance of the Pirate Queen!
