Week 42 Reviews: Jack O' the Lantern, A Strangely Thankful Thanksgiving, Christmas, The Krewe, and Gifts of Hope, Stabbed Through the Heart-It's a Bitter Game, The Easter Chicken, Voice of Fear, Descend to Darkness

Sienna Murray and Ryder Stapleton have moved to Virginia for Ryder to attend the FBI academy
at Quantico so the one-time NOLA cop can become an agent with the Krewe of Hunters.
But New Orleans is home to them both, and for Halloween, they're taking a few days of vacation
time to head down and see old friends and one of Sienna's relatives—Granny K. Of course, they'll be seeing Granny K. in "spirit," but she's as capable of being a "larger than life" personality in death as she was when among the living.

They arrive to find Granny K. telling an old tale that originated in Ireland and quickly extended
across the British Isles, and then onward to the New World in a slightly different form.
But she's telling the tale for a reason that has a major impact on the here and now—and the
living. The vacation Sienna and Ryder had planned is about to become a strange and desperate
struggle against the power of suggestion and the evils it can create in the mind, a race to see the devils alight on Halloween are put to rest, and the living—including Sienna herself—remain among the living!

From Goodreads:
Sienna Murray and Ryder Stapleton planned on being in New Orleans and welcoming family to his home for Thanksgiving dinner. Relaxing, easy time! The fact that Ryder’s kitchen was torn up for renovations might have put a glitch on the idea, but Adam Harrison had just purchased an historic home in the French Quarter, and they were welcome to make use of it.

But while accepting the keys to Adam’s new purchase, they hear a strange story regarding the old house. Of course, it’s the French Quarter—what self-respecting home doesn’t come with a good ghost story?

But this story has to do with the living and the dead and a legacy of fear and lies. And with just hours to spare, Sienna and Ryder will have to solve a mystery from the past—with a ‘wee’ bit of help from Granny K., friends, and a young man seeking justice and peace.

Once again, Sienna Murray thinks she's heading home for a beautiful and peaceful holiday—family, music, a tree and all the trimmings.

But a frantic call from an old friend and co-worker brings Ryder and Sienna out to the McMichael house where, long ago, tragic murders took place as Christmas neared. Ryder's old friend and co-worker has just purchased the house—and claims he's being tormented by a ghost!

Rumor is rife about what happened that fateful day at the McMichael house. But it will be their hunt to find the truth that will allow Sienna and Ryder to see just how beautiful the season can be and how the sweetest gifts can come in the strangest ways.

Krewe of Hunters - Valentine Themed

It's almost Valentine's Day and Jackson Crow is determined that he's going to be romantic this year. He and Angela work hard year-round, twenty-four hours a day sometimes while raising their two children, and this year, he's going to let Angela know just how special she is.

But a strange note arrives on their door, bringing Jackson back almost fifteen years to his beginnings as a young agent.

The killer known as the 'Poet' is back, and whether by accident or intent, Angela has received the first of the killer's poems.

They will have to race against time—with just a little help from the dead—to stop the Poet from taking another life on the day celebrating romance—be that the life of another innocent, or Angela herself.

And it's Valentine's Day. Jackson Crow is not about to lose the love of his life!

What seems like a wonderful occasion with friends becomes something quite different.

For Jackson and Angela Hawkins Crow, their son Corby, and their little daughter, Victoria, it should have been a day of warmth, friendship, and celebration. Things go horribly awry, but luckily, Angela has headed ahead with her friend, Brenda, a costumer, who will be the Easter bunny. Since Brenda has a hurt foot, Angela will be the Easter bunny herself in a strangely helpful turn of events. And she arrives at the event in time to sense the danger and send back a warning—after getting help from an unexpected source.

It's still a strange game of a chance and a race against time to see that all survive to truly appreciate the miracles of the season.

A killer is looking to silence them, once and for all.

FBI agent Jordan Wallace is close to cracking the human trafficking case she's been working, when she does the one thing she should never do: let her guard down. The botched undercover mission is semi-salvaged by the last-minute appearance of criminal psychologist Patrick Law, but Jordan can't imagine making a worse first impression. Especially when she's partnered with Patrick moving forward.

Patrick's innate ability to get inside a criminal’s head is an asset for the Krewe of Hunters. But Jordan wishes she could protect her own thoughts from her new partner. Patrick assures her that both she and her thoughts are safe with him, but Jordan's less sure about her heart. Letting someone have her back has never been her strong suit, but with a dangerous killer still at large, trusting in Patrick might be the only thing keeping them alive.

From Goodreads:
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Heather Graham comes a new story in her Krewe of Hunters series…

Angela Hawkins Crow awakens to find herself in total darkness. Despite her years as a Krewe agent, she is first seized with panic, but her life and her training kick in. She knows that she must stay calm and go back in her mind to find out how she got where she is…and where she might be.

Meanwhile, an eerie phone call comes in at Krewe headquarters, warning them all that Angela has been kidnapped, describing her ordeal, and lamenting the fact that she can't be saved.

But there is no such thing with the Krewe. In the dark and in the light, the fight is on.

Angela determines that she might know what has happened to her, and she is prepared when her kidnapper can't resist the temptation to check in on her.

By following his wife's expertise with research, Jackson discovers what just might be happening—and in the darkness of night and the silence of the graveyard, he'll risk everything to find the woman he loves.
