Week 50 Review: This Is How You Lose the Time War

From Goodreads:
Two time-traveling agents from warring futures, working their way through the past, begin to exchange letters—and fall in love in this thrilling and romantic book from award-winning authors Amal-El Mohtar and Max Gladstone.

Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandant finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading.

Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, grows into something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future.

Except the discovery of their bond would mean death for each of them. There's still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win that war. That’s how war works. Right?

Cowritten by two beloved and award-winning sci-fi writers, This Is How You Lose the Time War is an epic love story spanning time and space.

My Review:
This book was strange and lovely and I really enjoyed reading it! This story of two agents from different sides, both fighting in this time war, and how they thwart each other, but spend all this time thinking about the other, well, yeah, I loved it!

I went in knowing that people had found this book a bit difficult to understand. And I'm really glad that I've really gotten in audiobooks in this past year, because it really helped me read this story, and quickly, so I could understand all the connections that were happening, because it made this book make more sense to me, more easily, which I was really glad for!

This story of time travelers, the different strands and the different sides, the Commandant and the Garden, and the different methods that they used to fight this war-and each other-was so interesting, the different time periods and in the meantime they were falling in love, and it was so great!

This book was really excellently plotted. I mean, that's a good basic idea for any time travel books, but I loved the specifics of this book, in their path, and all the hidden messages and secrets, and the one behind them, watching. I loved it and how it all came together!

This was such a fantastic story and I'm so glad that I read it!
