Some tombs should never be opened...
Fluorine uranium carbon potassium. Jane's experiment really went wrong this time. After a fatal accident, teen scientist Jane becomes the first modern-day...mummy. Waking up in the Egyptian underworld without a heart certainly isn't the best—especially when it means Anubis, god of embalming, has to devour her soul. Yuck. But when Jane meets the drop-dead gorgeous god, suddenly she's thinking this might not be the worst thing to happen. And then she is pushed to do the impossible—just time-travel and kill King Tut. Well, every experiment has variables which can end in disaster... Jane just wishes she could decide whether she wants to strangle Anubis or kiss him.
My Review:
This was a really awesome book! So funny, and so good, and just really fantastic to read! The world was absolutely amazing, and the characters, wow, I loved reading about them! Really unique, and that's what I love in books!
So while there have been books in YA with Egyptian mythology, there aren't quite as many as there are in others. So there's a big playing ground there for uniqueness and to be ever so wonderful! And this book seized it!
Well, the beginning, yeah. Because to have a mummy, you have to be dead. And yet, Jane was alive in the first chapter. So yeah, the beginning. And then the rest of the book, with everything that was going on, so awesome!
A bit of a bittersweet ending, because she does have that love, but she doesn't have her hard, and all that entails in this world. And the fact of where her heart is, and how her family's dealt with her death, and moved on. Yeah, bittersweet, but really great!
Really awesome book, and I enjoyed it a whole ton!

Hi there,
We’re Leah and Kate Rooper, bloggers, vloggers, authors, and sisters from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Growing up beside the Pacific Ocean and inside a temperate rainforest fed our sense of adventure as children, and nourished a curiosity for strange and distant lands. We fed this curiosity with books…lots and lots of books. And after experiencing the magic of Middle Earth, we began creating our own worlds.
We began traveling at age sixteen and fourteen when we became international fashion models, working across Canada, the United States, Japan, and Italy. As amazing as the experiences were, modeling was not for us, so we returned to Victoria to pursue our other dreams: writing and traveling the world!
Leah is a twenty-four year old adventurer, currently pursuing her Bachelors of Illustration online. After a personal event that turned her life upside down, she decided to move across the world for a year and become an au pair in Sydney, Australia. Leah updates on traveling, working and living abroad, writing, and all things art related.
Kate is a twenty-three year old student, currently pursuing her Bachelors of Psychology. She spends all of her spare time writing, reading, fangirling over books and television shows, and trying to psychoanalyze her friends and family. Kate updates on surviving college life, relationship tips, personal improvement, and both the creative and business side of writing.
