Week 41 Review: The Rest of Us Just Live Here

From Goodreads:
A new YA novel from novelist Patrick Ness, author of the Carnegie Medal- and Kate Greenaway Medal-winning A Monster Calls and the critically acclaimed Chaos Walking trilogy, The Rest of Us Just Live Here is a bold and irreverent novel that powerfully reminds us that there are many different types of remarkable.

What if you aren't the Chosen One? The one who's supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating ghosts, or whatever the heck this new thing is, with the blue lights and the death?

What if you're like Mikey? Who just wants to graduate and go to prom and maybe finally work up the courage to ask Henna out before someone goes and blows up the high school. Again.

Because sometimes there are problems bigger than this week's end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary life.

Even if your best friend is worshipped by mountain lions.

My Review:
This book was awesome! So great, and different! A bit slow, which was because this was the story of the people who aren't the Chosen Ones, so that's to be expected! And there was still action which was just awesome!

These characters, they all had a great reason to make me want to read about them, that made them people, flaws and strengths, and that they were this great group of friends just made everything all the more better!

One of the best things for me, was at the beginning of each chapter, there was a quick synopsis of what the Chosen Ones were doing and going through, and yeah, that was really great! Especially when things started to connect! Though I do wish we'd gotten where they gotten "indie" to call the Chosen Ones!

I really enjoyed the ending, they got to graduate before the building exploded, so while poor 8 year old high school, but yeah, not their problem anymore! And while the adults pretending the Chosen One's adventures weren't happening even though things happened in their teenaged years...yeah. But great ending for these characters, even if there's going to be a negative or two coming in the future!

Really fantastic book! So great, with the trials of the regular person, and yeah, just really enjoyed it!
