Changes them forever
Once they finally break away from their soul-searing kiss, they find themselves alone—and shaken. Had they imagined their explosive chemistry? Obstacles—ranging from a death sentence, to exile on a war-torn dimension—threaten to destroy their lives, much less the vulnerable promise in that one kiss.

How long can they resist the fire that blazes between them?
Even if Mirceo can accept Caspion as his fated mate, the sensual vampire still must convince the stubborn demon that their bond is forever. And any royal Dacian union must receive the blessing of King Lothaire, an unpredictable and savage killer...

Fury on Fire by Sophie Jordan
Expected Publication: January 31st, 2017
From Goodreads:
When you live next door to the big bad wolf . . .

After years in prison, North Callaghan is finally free. But the demons haunting him still make him feel like a caged beast. He loses himself in work and hard living, coming up for air only to bed any willing woman to cross his path. So when his new neighbor snares his interest, he decides to add another notch to his bedpost. The only problem? Faith Walters is a white picket fence kind of girl.

Prepare to be devoured.

Faith’s new neighbor is the rudest man alive. He’d rather grunt at her than speak and he takes her “welcome-to-the-neighborhood” scones without a thank you. She knows she should run for the hills from the ex-con. If only he weren’t so smoldering sexy…if only the sounds of him with other women didn’t drift through their shared wall and fill her with longing…and if only he didn’t look at her like they were a collision waiting to happen.

By Your Side by Kasie West
Expected Publication: January 31st, 2017
From Goodreads:
An irresistible story from Kasie West that explores the timeless question What do you do when you fall for the person you least expect?

When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn’t come. No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

Week 48 Review: Hot Pterodactyl Boyfriend

From Goodreads:
Prepare to be blown away—or rather, carried away on huge muscular wings—by this blissfully outlandish, bracingly-smart, tour de force about a teen who has to come to terms with relinquishing control for the first time as she falls for the hot new…pterodactyl…at school. After all, everybody wants him!

Sheils is very pleased with her perfectly controlled life (controlling others while she's at it). She's smart, powerful, the Student Body Chair, and she even has a loving boyfriend. What more could a girl ask for?

But everything changes when the first-ever interspecies transfer student, a pterodactyl named Pyke, enrolls at her school. There's something about him—something primal—that causes the students to lose control whenever he’s around. Even Sheils, the seemingly perfect self-confident girl that she is, can't keep her mind off of him, despite her doting boyfriend and despite the fact that Pyke immediately starts dating Jocelyn, the school's fastest runner who Sheils has always discounted as a nobody.

Pyke, hugely popular in a school whose motto is to embrace differences, is asked to join a band, and when his band plays at the Autumn Whirl dance, his preternatural shrieking music sends everyone into a literal frenzy. No one can remember what happened the next day, but Shiels learns that she danced far too long with Pyke, her nose has turned purple, and she may have done something with her boyfriend that she shouldn't have. Who's in control now?

Hilarious and relatable (despite the dinosaur), Hot Pterodactyl Boyfriend is about a teen who must come to terms with not being in control of all things at all times, break free of her mundane life, discover who her true self is, and, oh, finding out that going primal isn't always a bad thing.

My Review:
So this is a first for me. Almost all the books that I read, I really enjoy. I've only DNF'ed 1 book and I got 100/500 pages in. I've had books that I've enjoyed, but had their down sides. But this book, I finished it-barely.

I honestly wish that I hadn't read this book! If I hadn't, then I could still dream of the possibilities that this book could take. And it's sad, because there was so much potential in this book, and it was wasted. The synopsis makes this book sound amazing-and then this book did nothing with it.

First off, was the way that it was written. There were parts where it was like thoughts, and a bit scattered, and not fully finished. And then there were the plot holes, like the reactions to Pyke-the loving him, and no scared panic. Yeah.

And things just didn't quite make sense. He's a bird, with a beak and fur. How did the ladies find that attractive? I mean, it makes sense that it would be because he's a pterodactyl, but there's no explanation given. And the ending, yeah, didn't make sense, nothing was explained, it was just over.

This book was a disappointment. It sounded fantastic and failed to deliver in a big way. I'll still dream of the possibilities, and I kinda wish someone would take the synopsis, and write a whole 'nother book. That'd probably be better, even if was just a short story, because there's so many awesome places this book could've gone!

Week 48 Review: Seriously Shifted

From Goodreads:
Tina Connolly's Seriously Shifted is a sparkling new adventure about teen witch Camellia and her mother, wicked witch Sarmine, introduced to readers in Seriously Wicked.

Teenage witch Cam isn't crazy about the idea of learning magic. She'd rather be no witch than a bad one. But when a trio of her mother's wicked witch friends decide to wreak havoc in her high school, Cam has no choice but to try to stop them.

Now Cam's learning invisibility spells, dodging exploding cars, and pondering the ethics of love potions. All while trying to keep her grades up and go on a first date with her crush. If the witches don't get him first, that is.

Can't a good witch ever catch a break?

My Review:
This book was hilarious! I'm so glad that there was a sequel, because the first book was so fantastic, and I wanted more, and I'm so glad that I did! And now I'm greedy, and I want a 3rd book, and maybe more! Yeah, this series is just so great!

In this book, Cam is learning spells and then casting them-while deciding what it means to be a good witch, and ethical. And she had a good yardstick to compare herself to-her mom's school group of witches and they game they play, that Cam got dragged into. Yeah.

There was also Devon and the aftereffects of the demon, and deciding who he is after all that was over. It didn't help that there was a witch casting spells on him that negatively impacted his musical performances! It was just so cute to watch them struggle with everything and their feelings!

Seeing Cam grow as a person and a witch was pretty awesome! And there were some other things, like how her father helped with hiding Leo's mom and Leo. And learning about shifters! And beating the bad guy, and how, because that was awesome!

I really, really hope that there's a 3rd book, so the mystery of Cam's dad's disappearance could be solved! Yeah. This book was really fantastic, and that's another reason why I want a 3rd book!

Week 48 Review: The Midnight Star

From Goodreads:
The thrilling finale to the New York Times bestselling Young Elites series from "hit factory" Marie Lu.

There was once a time when darkness shrouded the world, and the darkness had a queen.

Adelina Amouteru is done suffering. She's turned her back on those who have betrayed her and achieved the ultimate revenge: victory. Her reign as the White Wolf has been a triumphant one, but with each conquest her cruelty only grows. The darkness within her has begun to spiral out of control, threatening to destroy all that she's achieved.

Adelina's forced to revisit old wounds when a new danger appears, putting not only Adelina at risk, but every Elite and the very world they live in. In order to save herself and preserve her empire, Adelina and her Roses must join the Daggers on a perilous quest—though this uneasy alliance may prove to be the real danger.

Bestselling author Marie Lu concludes Adelina's story with this haunting and hypnotizing final installment to the Young Elites series.

My Review:
Oh, wow, this was an excellent end to this series! I'm kinda glad that I read the series this way, waiting so long to read The Rose Society, because that meant that I could read this one right away, and keeping the details of the world and characters fresh! Yeah, that was really great for me!

This book picks up about a year after the ending of The Rose Society, and Adelina is about in the same place as she was in the ending, and it's not a good one! She's made the lives of others like her better, but at the cost of regular people. Yeah.

And then the idea that the Young Elite's power comes from the gods-but they are in mortal bodies, and the power is going to kill them, becomes a reality. And a harsh one at that! But it brought the Daggers and the Roses together, so that was great!

It was a bittersweet ending, what with having to give up their powers to fix the hole between the mortal realm and the immortal realm that is poisoning everything and killing them. Yeah. Oh, and the deal that Adelina made for her life for her sister's! And oh, the last two pages! Loved it!

This book was absolutely fantastic, and a wonderful ending to the series, and I can't wait to read what Marie Lu writes next!

Week 48 Review: A World Without You

From Goodreads:
What if finding her means losing himself?

Seventeen-year-old Bo has always had delusions that he can travel through time. When he was ten, Bo claimed to have witnessed the Titanic hit an iceberg, and at fifteen, he found himself on a Civil War battlefield, horrified by the bodies surrounding him. So when his worried parents send him to a school for troubled youth, Bo assumes he knows the truth: that he's actually attending Berkshire Academy, a school for kids who, like Bo, have "superpowers."

At Berkshire, Bo falls in love with Sofía, a quiet girl with a tragic past and the superpower of invisibility. Soíia helps Bo open up in a way he never has before. In turn, Bo provides comfort to Sofía, who lost her mother and two sisters at a very young age.

But even the strength of their love isn't enough to help Sofia escape her deep depression. After she commits suicide, Bo is convinced that she's not actually dead. He believes that she's stuck somewhere in time—that he somehow left her in the past, and that now it's his job to save her. And as Bo becomes more and more determined to save Sofía, he must decide whether to face his demons head-on or succumb to a psychosis that will let him be with the girl he loves.

My Review:
This was a really great and in-depth look into mental illness. We on the outside knew that Bo was mentally ill and how it was for him, but not what it was. And then we got his sister, Phoebe's POV, and that was a great counterpart!

The thing about this book, was that it was so convincing and detailed, the world that Bo created. Like, in seeing future, one possibility for the school was the Academy burning down which happened. And then there was Phoebe's earring backing being loose. It was really convincing!

This family has been through a lot. And Sofia's death was pretty tragic. The way that he saw things-and then was seeing things how they really were-if we didn't know better, we'd think that this was a paranormal book. But it isn't.

The last chapter that Bo narrated, it ended with him making a choice, between reality, and the world in his head. And in the final chapter, the way that he acted, there's reasons why he could've chosen both. And I want to know what he chose!

Loved this book, it was enjoyable and thoughtful and great!

Week 48 Review: Be Still My Vampire Heart, The Undead Next Door

From Goodreads:
If it was still beating. Angus MacKay has been undead for almost five hundred years and it's not often something, or someone, surprises him. Until Emma Wallace. The sight of this luscious agent from the CIA's elite Stake-Out team was enough to stop Angus in his tracks. But then he discovers that she's a vampire slayer, intent on killing the "monsters" who killed her parents. And it's Angus's job to stop her.

The only good vampire is a dead vampire. It's been Emma's motto since she committed her life to the destruction of these things. Now Angus MacKay wants to convince her differently.

Sure, he's a sexy Highland warrior who seems to have stepped off the cover of a romance novel, complete with brogue, kilt, and sword, but he's also one of them. And it's her job to kill him.

The war is on, but will it end in the destruction of one or both of them . . . or in total surrender to a passion for the ages?

From Goodreads:
Three signs that something is very different with your new man:

1. He sleeps all day . . . which would be annoying except he's so attentive at night.

2. He's attacked by sword-wielding assailants, yet insists he can handle it on his own.

3. He never seems to age.

Heather Westfield has always lived a quiet life, but that all changes when she helps a very handsome, very mysterious stranger. There's something not quite right about Jean-Luc, but still, she's never been with a man so charming, so attractive . . . so wonderful. Now if only a murderous villain wasn't after them, they might get their happily-ever-after.

My Review:
It was just great to read these books! I did take a while to get around to reading them, and I don't know why, because I enjoyed them so much! The Undead Next Door is now tied with How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire as my favourite book in the series! I just loved it!

Vampire Heart was closer to the series plotline than Undead Next Door, with the threat from Casmir's right hand, vs. an assassin employed by Casmir. Which would make you think that Vampire Heart would be more of my favourite but Undead Next Door was more hilarious-making her ex think he was a cockroach, several times, which was absolutely hilarious!

I enjoyed both of these couples! Angus and Emma were both in this world, so there wasn't that hurtle, but they were kinda on opposite sides which was kinda a bigger one! And yeah, it was really great to watch both pairs draw closer and closer together!

One thing that I really loved, was that the characters from the previous books were in these two, and the updates that they gave! Like Shanna and Roman's son, and his peculiarities that were more pronounced as he grew up! Loved that! And seeing Darcy and Austin again was awesome!

These books were really fantastic, and I can't wait to read more of this series!

Week 48 Review: Power Game

From Goodreads:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan is "one of the best storytellers around" (RT Book Reviews). Find out why as two lovers surrounded by greed and corruption discover there's no telling whom you can trust—or who will come out on top...

When members of a United Nations joint security force are taken hostage by radical terrorists in Indonesia, Captain Ezekiel Fortunes is called to lead the rescue team. Part of a classified government experiment, Zeke is a supersoldier with enhanced abilities. He can see better and run faster than the enemy, disappear when necessary and hunt along any terrain. There are those in the world willing to do anything for power like that...

A formidable spy genetically engineered to hide in plain sight, Bellisia rarely meets a man who doesn't want to control her or kill her. But Zeke is different. His gaze, his touch—they awaken feelings inside her that she never thought possible. He's the kind of man she could settle down with—if she can keep him alive...

My Review:
This series is the one that introduced me and hooked me onto Christine Feehan's writing! And yeah, it was a fantastic addition to this series! We had a long wait between Samurai Game and Viper Game, but the wait was well worth it and the series has only gotten better! Loved this book!

This book, not only were were introduced to Bellisa, but we learned more about Team 4, and got to meet more members! Like Malichai was the youngest of the Fortunes, and Joe's family took in Gino's after a ransoming attempt killed all of Gino's! And yeah, that was awesome, because these people were just incredible, what they can do, who they are! I can't wait to read their books!

In this book, there were 2 main bad guys. Cheng, a paranoid rich guy, and Violet. And yeah, I enjoyed watching the GhostWalkers face off against them, and win, of course! And yeah, there were some pretty fantastic developments in regards to the GhostWalkers and the future of the series!

Bellisia named a few more women who were, well, I can't say raised, because he ddn't do that, I'll say trained by Whitney and enhanced and such. And yeah, that's awesome, because there's not a whole lot of enhanced women out there that we know of, but a lot of guys!

What I want most-besides Whitney being taken down-is to see someone get enhanced. We seen these people afterward, but not how, and not before, which I'd also like to see! I can just picture it, a woman that Whitney's trained but is against him, watching him enhance the soldier that she'd be paired with-which is also another want, to have a couple want to be together, have time together, before they're paired! I know there's a difference, but I want to see it!

This book was really fantastic, and I can't wait for the next book in the series and the next couple!

My Review:
This book was just so fantastic! I've loved this series from the beginning-and now that it's almost finished, I'm still thoroughly enjoyed the ride! I'll be sad to say good-bye to these characters, but we're not there yet, and I enjoyed their latest adventure!

So there's the bad guy that was just unveiled in the previous book. And it kinda sucks, because Merit's brother has taken on the attitudes that their dad has now outgrown, and is on the bad guy's side of things!

One thing that this book brought up was a fight between Ethan and Gabriel in leadership, and holding information close to the chest. And it damaged the relationship, but it's not broken, and yeah, they worked together to bring the bad guy down!

Between the threat that they were facing, and the shifter alliance status, there was a lot going on! And there was also a proposal that Merit definitely accepted! And her ring, I looked it up, and if I was ever fortunate to get engaged and married, that would be the kind of ring I would want!

This book was fantastic, and I can't wait to see how this series is going to end!
