Week 51 Reviews: The Gentleman's Guide to Getting Lucky, The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy

From Goodreads:
In this funny and frothy novella that picks up where the New York Times bestselling The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue leaves off, freshly minted couple Monty and Percy fumble through their first time together.

Monty's epic grand tour may be over, but now that he and Percy are finally a couple, he realizes there is something more nerve-wracking than being chased across Europe: getting together with the person you love.

Will the romantic allure of Santorini make his first time with Percy magical, or will all the anticipation and build-up completely spoil the mood?

From Goodreads:
In this highly anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestselling The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue, Felicity Montague must use all her womanly wits and wiles to achieve her dreams of becoming a doctor—even if she has to scheme her way across Europe to do it. A must-have for fans of Mackenzi Lee's extraordinary and Stonewall Honor-winning novel.

A year after an accidentally whirlwind grand tour with her brother Monty, Felicity Montague has returned to England with two goals in mind—avoid the marriage proposal of a lovestruck suitor from Edinburgh and enroll in medical school. However, her intellect and passion will never be enough in the eyes of the administrators, who see men as the sole guardians of science.

But then a window of opportunity opens—a doctor she idolizes is marrying an old friend of hers in Germany. Felicity believes if she could meet this man he could change her future, but she has no money of her own to make the trip. Luckily, a mysterious young woman is willing to pay Felicity's way, so long as she's allowed to travel with Felicity disguised as her maid.

In spite of her suspicions, Felicity agrees, but once the girl's true motives are revealed, Felicity becomes part of a perilous quest that leads them from the German countryside to the promenades of Zurich to secrets lurking beneath the Atlantic.

My Review:
These were really great reads! Loved catching up with the Montague siblings, they both had stories to tell! There was adventure and romance and piracy, and plenty of secrets! They were such great reads, and I'm excited to continue the series!

Oh, man, Guide to Getting Lucky was so cute and hilarious! Monty is just so nervous, and he mucks it up by saying cruel things. And once they have a chance, well, things go so wrong. Loved seeing them again, and it was just a really great read!

So I didn't mention this is my review of Vice and Virtue, but I had a bit of a rough start getting into it. I was just anxious that something bad was going to happen, and once they left on the trip, the worst could happen didn't happen, so I was able to just dive in and read. And the same happened with Petticoats and Piracy. Felicity wanted to become a doctor so badly, but because she's female, they reject her on the spot. It was so frustrating! But then things got going, and it was fantastic to read!

Also, speaking of that previous review, I wondered how Felicity ended up back with their parents. I don't know why I thought that, because she doesn't. Not in this book, and not in the sequel, where their brother didn't know about Felicity and Monty!

Felicity definitely goes on an adventure in her book. I loved who she was, she wanted knowledge, she didn't really want to be kissed, and I loved the relationships that we saw, the ones she developed in this book, and one or two that she'd had previously, that weren't exactly on the best of terms! I really enjoyed her story and where it ended, wow! Didn't expect that!

I really enjoyed reading the both of these, and I can't wait to read about their brother next!
