Week 42 Review: Death, and the Girl He Loves

From Goodreads:
The fate of the world is not something a girl wants on her shoulders, and that is especially true for Lorelei McAlister, even though that is exactly where the world’s fate has decided to take up residence. Lorelei has seen first hand the horrors that lie beneath our everyday world. And those horrors are getting her friends killed. Because of this, she agrees to leave the sanctity of her hometown and is sent to a different world entirely. A boarding school. But even here she is being watched. Someone knows what she is. What she carries inside her soul. And now, alone and vulnerable, she must face the fact that there are people who want her dead, and no matter where she goes, no matter how far she runs, the lives of her friends and family are in mortal peril.

My Review:
Oh, this was a fantastic ending to the series! I absolutely loved it, thought when it went to the switch from the original time line, to a new one, I didn't realize what was going on and was slightly confused, but yeah, once it was explained, yeah, so freaking good!!!

This one was the darkest of the series, because things are more dire, and to keep her loved ones safe, Lorelei ran away, to hide out, and hopefully keep the apocalypse from happening. But then she gets a a lot of new visions, of the apocalypse, which happened because she got a note. Which sucks, since she feels everything of all the deaths, and she gets bombarded by all of them, all that pain and suffering. Bad.

So of course that means it's time to go home, and when she does, well, people are not happy with her. Mostly her gang, everybody else, well, most everybody, is mad with her grandparents for sending her away, that they tormented them, and Jared's been dealing with spirits who want to jump ship, forcing him to kill them. So that's not fun.

I loved how Jared broke Grandpa Mac out of prision, that was funny! And then how the pictures, they are what saved them, she brought the pictures with the group to the final battle, the Glitch died trying to get one picture to Lorelei, Brooklyn was the one that got her to practise, and Jared and Cam held off the battle long enought for Lorelei to go into the picture, and to get her Grandpa Mac to stop everything that was going to happen.

So yeah, that was when the switch happened, not telling about Lorelei going into that picture, but later, during the party that if they were alive, then she stopped it, so yeah! And Glitch's fear of turtles was justified! Though I want to know what happened with Cam and Glitch at that trip, I think Cam saved Glitch from something, but violently, and that's why Glitch hates him.

That it was called the War That Wasn't, and Will Never Be, was awesome, and her reward? Forever with Jared, and for him to fall in love with her, yeah! And then Cameron and Jared's war that she calls The War That Is And Will Always Be, fighting in the woods, "we're already outside" "more outside" was hilarious! And the ending was nice and sweet, loved that!

This was just an awesome book, and I really can't wait to see if Darynda Jones writes more YA books! I Hope so, this series was fantastic!
