Week 37 Review: Good Girl, Bad Blood

From Goodreads:
The highly anticipated sequel to the instant New York Times bestseller, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder! More dark secrets are exposed in this addictive, true-crime fueled mystery.

Pip is not a detective anymore.

With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her.

But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds has disappeared, on the very same night the town hosted a memorial for the sixth-year anniversary of the deaths of Andie Bell and Sal Singh.

The police won't do anything about it. And if they won't look for Jamie then Pip will, uncovering more of her town's dark secrets along the way... and this time everyone is listening. But will she find him before it's too late?

My Review:
I had a great time reading this book! I loved being with these characters again, and this time, they were working on a current, active case. So that was fun to read. Plus there's dealing with the consequences of the previous one.

In this book, there's the question of what happened to Jamie. And Pip does warn his family that the investigation could bring up secrets that may not wish to know. But it was interesting how she was able to use the audience that she gained from the first case, to help investigate this book.

Speaking of the first case, well, things aren't sunshine and roses there, either. There were a few very unpleasant, unfortunate events, and Pip did go in a pretty dark direction, though it was totally understandable!

I loved how it came together. There were some pretty unexpected pieces, and that ending was just honest and pretty brutal. It wasn't a perfect happy ending, but what happened wasn't perfect, so I really enjoyed how it wrapped up. I just can't wait to see where it goes from here!

This was a really fantastic read, and I can't wait to continue the series!
