Week 38 Review: Death Masks

From Goodreads:
Harry Dresden, Chicago's only practicing professional wizard, should be happy that business is pretty good for a change. But he also knows that whenever things are going good, the only way left for them to go is bad. Way bad.

Recent examples: A duel with the lethal champion of the Red Court, who must kill Harry to end the war between vampires and wizards…Hit men using Harry for target practice…The missing Shroud of Turin—and the possible involvement of Chicago's most feared mob boss…A handless and headless corpse the Chicago police need identified…

Not to mention the return of Harry's ex-girlfriend Susan, who's still struggling with her semi-vampiric nature—and who seems to have a new man in her life.

Some days, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. No matter how much you're charging.

My Review:
This book was a another great read! I enjoyed going on further adventures with Dresden, and I'm just so excited that this is such a long series, because there's so much more in the future! I can't wait to see what's going to happen next!

Poor Harry. First his ex-girlfriend Susan comes back, he gets a chance to get a safe ground from in Chicago from the war if he participates in a duel-a duel that if he dies, means that the war is over. And an investigation into the Shroud of Turin. Yeah, he has a lot going on!

I just found it hilarious, that time and time again, this one lady got away from him. After all, she was the bad guy, and he came out on top a few times, but she still got away, and with his coat and car, all in all. So that was fun to read!

There a fair amount of politics in this book because of the way, and we also learn more about the threats in this world who want the Shroud. I mean, there was so much going on, and Harry had to be clever again, though he was also lucky and smart, given his collection of friends and allies that he's made!

Loved reading this book, it was another great book in the series, and I can't wait to read more!
