Week 11 Review: Struck

From Goodreads:
Mia Price is a lightning addict. She’s survived countless strikes, but her craving to connect to the energy in storms endangers her life and the lives of those around her.

Los Angeles, where lightning rarely strikes, is one of the few places Mia feels safe from her addiction. But when an earthquake devastates the city, her haven is transformed into a minefield of chaos and danger. The beaches become massive tent cities. Downtown is a crumbling wasteland, where a traveling party moves to a different empty building each night, the revelers drawn to the destruction by a force they cannot deny. Two warring cults rise to power, and both see Mia as the key to their opposing doomsday prophecies. They believe she has a connection to the freak electrical storm that caused the quake, and to the far more devastating storm that is yet to come.

Mia wants to trust the enigmatic and alluring Jeremy when he promises to protect her, but she fears he isn’t who he claims to be. In the end, the passion and power that brought them together could be their downfall. When the final disaster strikes, Mia must risk unleashing the full horror of her strength to save the people she loves, or lose everything.

My Review:
Oh, this was an amazing, wonderful book! I absolutely loved it!!! It sucked me in, even though I really shouldn't have read it this soon, seeing as it's a NetGalley book not coming out til May. But I couldn't help myself, I just had to read this book, and read more and more, and the ending, well, what some characters implied means that we'll get a sequel! And I so want one! This was an amazing book, that was just so well told! The only thing that I would've liked, having 2 parts, is that we got to know the first time she was struck (And I'm thinking it has something to do with her dad, maybe) and how many times she was struck before the events of this book. Yep.

Mia is a lightning addict-she craves being struck. But because of incidents were people have been hurt, her family has moved to LA where it really isn't known for having lightning storms. But she feels in her skin that a storm's coming. And pushed and pulled by the various groups, and the strange boy who makes her see snippets of the future. Between dealing with taking care of her younger brother, and her mom who was trapped under a building for 3 days from the earthquake, well, things are hard.

And they get worse, as her mom moves towards this cult who predict that the world's ending. And her brother moves to the group who oppose the cult. They both want her for something, and she wants the lover card, not the tower card. But circumstances pull her out of control, and the ending was explosive! Loved it!

This was an amazing book, and yeah, it was just so good! Read it when it comes out, because it is spectacular!
