First Lines Friday #1, July 15th

First Lines Friday is a new bookish meme hosted by Literary Marie of Precision Reviews. We encourage all of our fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.
  • Grab your current read(s)
  • Share the first line(s)
  • Include the title and author so that other FLF participants can add the book to their TBR Lists
"I was arrested in Eno's Dinner. At twelve o'clock. I was eating eggs and drinking coffee. A late breakfast, not lunch. I was wet and tired after a long walk in heavy rain. All the way from the highway to the edge of town." -Killing Floor by Lee Child
"Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse had signed a lease on a five room apartment in a geometric white house on First Avenue when they received word, from a woman named Mrs. Cortez, that a four room apartment in the Bramford had become available." -Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin
"Julia was enjoying a quiet night as the on-call physician. All peace and calm ended the second a life-changing patient presented to the emergency room." -Warriors of the Cross by T. R. Graves
"It was a cold, gray, December morning as three solidarity figures stood quietly waiting in a coppice some five miles south of London." -Consequence by Hazel Staham

Yeah, got a lot of books going! What about you guys? Happy reading!

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog and participating in FLF.

Wow, you're reading four books at the same time. In Lee Child's book, was he arrested for killing Floor? Too bad his late breakfast was interrupted. The police could have let him finish his eggs and coffee. LOL

I like the unique cover of Rosemary's Baby.

I wonder what was so life-changing about the patient in Warriors of the Cross. Hmmm, a person near-death or coming to the emergency room to save a life?

Already loving the first line of Consequence just because it is based in London town.

  2. :) I like new memes!
Yeah, a paperback, and then 3 e-books, (but I have 3 more open right now)
Killing Floor, I think means that people are going to be killed on 1 floor, but I can't be sure :) And he did finish his food, but on the next page :)
Yep, it's a pretty good book, it was what imspired cults and stuff, and there was a movie made based on it, it came out about 50 years ago :)

And the lifechanging is saving the life, but that would harm the child that the nurse was carring in some form or another.

And Consequence is pretty good :) I'm liking it :)
