First Lines Friday #2, July 22nd

First Lines Friday is a new bookish meme hosted by Literary Marie of Precision Reviews. We encourage all of our fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.
  • Grab your current read(s)
  • Share the first line(s)
  • Include the title and author so that other FLF participants can add the book to their TBR Lists
"A narrow trail snakes in front of me, lit only by the full moon. If I can make it to the road...or hide...
Low-haning branches scrape across my face, breaking through my raised arms and drawing blood. But I can't stop. I have to keep running. Can he smell my blood?" -Kiss of Death by P. D. Martin

"Peering through new gree foliage into a large field that the surrounding woodland sheltered from winds that could roar up the dale from Soway Firth, Will Jardine said, 'What if Dunwythie catches us here?'" -Seduced By A Rogue
"My mind raced as I weaved a path through the crowd. 'Harry, can you hear me?' I yelled. Holding the phone to my ear, I struggled to make out what he said over the poor signal and blaring noise-and then the call died." -The Willlows: Haven by Hope Collier
"The alarm  clock clicked from 6:04 to 6:05, and let out a sadistic buzz that jolted Maggie from a deep, comfortable sleep." -Destruction From Twins by L. Carroll
"'Lookin' good, baby' the guy yelled from across the room, exposing his bright white fangs." -Rock 'n' Roll Is Undead by Rose Pressey

Yeah, more books to read! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!

  1. Thanks for participating in FLF.

I see a common theme in all of these first lines. Either running, danger, or peace. But they all have a sense of urgent panic.

  2. :)
And huh, that's weird. My books are conspiracing? against me! They're having similar themes!

I love comments, so comment away! I'll comment back if you leave a post-specific link for me to visit! If you leave that link, I'll always comment back, even if it's like, a month late!

This is an award free blog! Thanks for thinking of me but I just don't have the time to pass it along!
