Week 25 Review: Ecstasy in Darkness

From Goodreads:
New York Times bestselling sensation Gena Showalter enthralls with a dark, tantalizing world of humans, otherworlders, powers beyond imagining, and a seductive vampire undone by his insatiable hunger for one woman. . . .

Growing up poor on New Chicago’s meanest streets, Ava Sans had two options: be the predator or be the prey. No contest. Now, working for Alien Investigation and Removal, she’s been ordered to capture the biggest, baddest warrior of all—a vampire too beautiful to be real, with the abilityto manipulate time. Once the leader of the entire vampire army, McKell has been deemed savage and unstable, spurned even by his own kind.

To McKell, humans should be nothing more than sustenance. Yet the petite, golden-skinned Ava is a fascinating contradiction—vicious yet witty, strong yet vulnerable, lethal but fiercely loyal. Against his better judgment, McKell craves that loyalty, and much more. When the chase leads to seduction, McKell and Ava will race to discover the truth about his past. But the answers will come at a price, even for a woman who thought she had nothing left to lose. . . .

My Review:
Oh, what a wonderful book! McKell was just so sure of himself, that he was a great person to be around, but Ava, Ava had been put down all her life, as "trash" and she had a lot of negative thoughts, fears, that kept her from a life that she could have with McKell, but she faced them, and she got that life!

I loved how destructive Ava and Noelle could be, with each other with words, to Ava seeing red when someone said something bad about Noelle-one point stabbing McKell for repeating what she said about Noelle, because only she is allowed to bad mouth Noelle, yeah, Ava has something of an anger problem if you get on her wrong side!

I loved the dog, and how McKell initially didn't like her, but after feeding her his blood, and her becoming a vampire dog, how she was all nice to him, and since he's possessive, she's now his, and yeah, that was just awesome!

I'm really interesting in the whole Dallas/Schon Queen plot line, and how he is attracted to her, but yeah, she's Trinity, the woman, the disease, and followers, and how all the Schon people sent back to their planet by McKell's dad. Though I would love to know more about what species that McKell and his dad are!

Such a great book, and I must read more, like, now!!!
